Not to mention things like chrono trigger introducing a solution to random battles, and battles that happened on the actual adventure screen, and adopted the team combo moves, but because Ps4 took an eternity to localize it seemed the other way around. Jrpg's had started the switch from being the ugliest games you got and used your imagination on, to actually being really visually engaging, and it wasn't even just a matter of graphics, but HOW they chose to draw the scene, using different perspectives, instead of the rigid overhead grid.
